Dr. Jeanie Kaeberle brings over 25 years of experience in the nursing field, building upon a foundation in Medical Social Work before transitioning to nursing as her second career. She began her transition into nursing as an Emergency Department Technician at Saint Joseph Medical Center, later earning her BSN and specializing in Critical Care at Research Medical Center. Throughout her bedside career, she has held a variety of positions including Travel Nurse, Staff Nurse, and Charge Nurse. Before transitioning from bedside nursing, Dr. Kaeberle gained extensive experience in Emergency, Trauma, and Critical Care at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. She played an active role in professional development, serving on various committees, including the systemwide ER Education Committee, where she contributed to nursing education, skill development, and annual training initiatives. After earning her MSN in 2014, she worked as a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner in Neuro Critical Care at The University of Kansas Medical Center. She continues to maintain her clinical practice in Neurology and College Health. Dr. Kaeberle has been an educator in prelicensure, BSN, and MSN programs since 2014. She joined the University of Central Missouri as a full-time faculty member in 2019.
Dr. Kaeberle's research interests encompass enhancing interdisciplinary team communication, simulation-based learning in nursing education, and the impact of mentorship on new nurse practitioners. Her doctoral project explored the use of the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) framework as an effective tool for teaching communication skills to new nurses and healthcare providers. She has shared her expertise on this topic through presentations at the Missouri League for Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Dr. Kaeberle holds memberships in several organizations, including the American Nurses Association (ANA), Sigma Theta Tau International, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Her involvement reflects her commitment to advancing nursing practice, education, and leadership.
Dr. Kaeberle serves as the Graduate Program Coordinator. In addition to her leadership responsibilities, she teaches in both the MSN and FNP tracks, delivering courses such as Health Assessment, Clinical NP Practice, Leadership, Advanced Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology.
