Rayna Brown is an adjunct instructor in the Occupational Risk and Safety Sciences Department and has a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health and a M.S. in Industrial Hygiene from UCM. Ms. Brown is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a working EHS leader within the Pharmaceutical industry.Rayna actively serves as Treasurer of AIHA Mid-America local professional section (2024-current) and successfully served as President-Elect and President of the Mid-America local section (2022-2024). Professional contributions include providing professional expertise on the finalization team for the AIHA Hierarchy of Controls white paper, serving as a participant on the ACGIH Pandemic Response Task Force serving on the Effectiveness of Face Coverings for Preventing SARS-COV-2 Transmission (2020), participation in the AIHA Emerging Leaders program (2022), and serving on the BCSP Emerging Professionals Committee (2023-2024). Ms. Brown also served on the American Board of Engineering Technology (ABET) Industry Advisory Council working to provide ABET leadership with the perspectives of major employers on accreditation policy issues (2024-2025). Rayna was a participant author on the Synergist article The Business Case for EHS (2022) and was recognized as the 2025 AIHA Kusnetz Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Early Career Professional.
